What Is Zorobot

Zorobot is an IRC bot for learning japanese at #learnjapanese @ irc.rizon.org. Below are some of the features available on zorobot.

Main Features

• Use spaced repetition for faster memorization. Get asked more on unfamiliar questions and less on familiar questions.
• Select from various game types. Play regular, first-hit, personal, guessing, cooperation, staged, or multi-answered game.
• Use a wide range of question sets. Play regular themes, select questions from dictionaries, or use custom set.
• Display example word or sentence after the question is answered. Learn more words and sentences while playing the game.
• Display extra information after the question is answered. Show extra meaning on reading game, or hide the kanji in the question and only show them after the question is answered.
• Change the game difficulty according to your skill level. Change the frequency of repetition or change the starting level of the game.
• Adjust the speed of the game. Set the timeout, interval between questions, or extra time for reading examples according to your preference.
• Change the color scheme of the game. Replace the color set used by the bot to your favorite colors.
• Import data various sites such as kantango.com, flashcardexchange.com, quizlet.com, or wordchamp.com. Use any set from large set of user lists on those sites.
• Generate review report of the game containing list of questions and their statistics. Easily find out the questions missed frequently.
• Display list of missed kanji from the current kanji game. Focus more on this kanji by starting a new game using this list of missed kanji.
• Save the current game and its settings. Load and continue the game at any time later.
• Save partially the current game into a new game. Study a number of most unfamiliar questions by playing this partial game.
• Create personal word lists to be used as question set. Use your own list or use other people's custom lists for the game.
